BENEFITS AND CONSIDERATIONS:

The course invites you to belong in a community of supported independence...find your own feet and style within the structure and discipline of Yoga and the teaching skills taught by The Haum of Yoga course.

Among other suprises...

This course will change your life! Whether you want to teach or not, this course offers a strong incentive to go inward and spring clean! Much of the processing is done on a cellular level and some of it unfortunately, you just have to go through. We provide a safe non-judgemental space to allow for this experience.

If you are planning to teach, this course creates the foundation of living yoga. It offers that over two months you find a routine of daily self-practice that translates easily into a lifestyle after the course. It is comprehensive in all areas relevant to safe and strong teaching practices. The course inspires an experience of practical philosophy that also can be integrated into a daily awareness, as much or as little as the individual wants. Pattabhi Jois’ famous quote “99% practice, 1% theory” is the foundation of the course and the learning process. We teach 99% practice of yoga lifestyle (not just asana!) and believe this will make you a great teacher!

This course offers an experience of all classifications of yoga: raja yoga (where most systems of asana practice evolve from), bhakti yoga, karma yoga and jnana yoga. It is truly a course through which you can learn to understand into the deeper crevices of your psyche.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

It is expected that you will continue in the lifestyle of yoga and maintain continuing education requirements after the course. When deciding to do this course consider that you begin a journey of yoga as part of The Haum of Yoga community of teachers, and students alike. To maintain the standard, you will be required to continue in the study of yoga on an annual basis. If you don't feel you can do this, then apply to do the course for personal development and not for certification purposes!

One annual Yoga teachers forum is to be attended among other teaching & learning requirements. Please factor this into your decision making process.

TESTIMONIALS:

"I think everyone should do this course whether they are planning to teach or not. I learned everything that I wanted to learn and more. It was challenging, emotional, and more heart and soul than I expected. I learned so much about myself. What a great life journey. Thanks." Sharni Asbury

"These past 2 months have been the most transforming months of my life!" Melanie Castleman

"A truly profound experience that I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore themselves through the art of yoga." Lisa Heath

"This course was intense, but could be integrated into my life with some sacrifices that were worth it for the knowledge and awareness that I gained." Charles Edelstein

"I have grown exponentially through this course, there are few things that I have done in life that have given me this grounding, understanding, knowledge and growth." Di Liebenberg

"When Kerry told me that the teacher’s course would be transforming, I thought “Cool, but what I really want is to do yoga daily”. ... It has changed my attitudes about what I can and can’t do, it has changed the way I eat and approach food, and it has changed the way I think about the universe. I went through a process of facing my physical self in the demanding twice-daily practice, then my mental self in the disciplines of pranayama, and then my spiritual self in the subtle understandings that come from spending so much time with yogis. This is a testimony to the careful structuring and thought that has gone into the flow, content and interaction of this course. So I am astounded to say that I am transformed. And even more astounded that I am a yoga teacher." Jacqui Maroun
